After an intense process of selection, followed by three months of preparation, 34 young Chileans are ready to be the face of Chile as liaisons who receive visitors to the Chilean Pavilion at the Expo Shanghai 2010.
The group is made up of 22 women and 12 men. 11 of these liaisons come from the provinces of Chile. The professions represented within this group include business majors, journalists, law students, interpreters, civil engineers, teachers, and tourist agents among others. Additionally, the Police Force of Chile, known in Spanish as Carabineros, will be represented in the Chilean Pavilion by a contingent of 17 officers in uniform who will carry out their roles in matters of security and protocol.
The rigorous training program for these young people included the study of English, Mandarin Chinese, history of Chile, history of China, protocol for both countries, leadership development, team work, Chilean economy and Asian economy, among other subjects.
